RAMADAN Hadith Series (30 Hadiths)

Hadith 01

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins.” {Sunan An-Nasa’I, Book 22, Hadith 116, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 02

Marwan ibn Salim al-Muqaffa’ said: I heard from Ibn Umar (ra) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said when he broke his fast: Thirst has gone, the arteries are moist, and the reward is sure, if Allah wills (“‏ ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ‏”). {Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 14, Hadith 45, Classified as Hasan}

 

Hadith 03

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.” {Sahih Al Bukhari, Book 30, Hadith 9}

 

Hadith 04

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying regarding Ramadan, “Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.” {Sahih Al Bukhari, Book 31, Hadith 1}

 

Hadith 05

 Narrated Umaamah that the Prophet () said: “At every breaking of the fast, Allah (swt) has people whom He redeems people from the Fire.” {Musnad Ahmed, 5/256, Classified as Sahih}.

 

Hadith 06

Narrated Muhammad bin Ka’b Al-Qurazi: “I heard ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud saying: ‘The Messenger of Allah () said: “[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah’s Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.” {Jami’at Tirmidhi, Book 45, Hadith 3158, Classified as Hasan}

 

Hadith 07

 Ali (ra) said that “Abu Bakr (ra)  narrated to me a tradition, and Abu Bakr narrated truthfully. He said: I heard the apostle of Allah () saying: When a servant (of Allah) commits a sin, and he performs ablution well, and then stands and prays two rak’ahs, and asks pardon of Allah, Allah pardons him. He then recited this verse: “And those who, when they commit indecency or wrong their souls, remember Allah” (Al-Qur’an 3:135). {Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 8, Hadith 106, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 08

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah () as saying: If anyone does not abandon falsehood and action in accordance with it, Allah has no need that he should abandon his food and drink. {Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 14, Hadith 50, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 09

Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever provides the food for a fasting person to break his fast with, then for him is the same reward as his (the fasting person’s), without anything being diminished from the reward of the fasting person.” {Jami’at Tirmidhi, Book 8, Hadith 126, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 10

‘Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: “Indeed in Paradise there are chambers, whose outside can be seen from their inside, and their inside can be seen from their outside.” A Bedouin stood and said : ‘Who are they for, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “For those who speak well, feed others, fast regularly, and perform salat [for Allah] during the night while the people sleep.” {Jami`at-Tirmidhi, Book 27, Hadith 90, Classified as Hasan}

 

Hadith 11

Abu Hurairah reported that Messenger of Allah (SWAS) as saying If any owner of treasure (gold and silver) does not pay what is due on it, Allah will make it heated in the Hell fire on the Day of Judgment, and his side, forehead and back will be cauterized with it until Allah gives His Judgment among mankind during a day whose extent will be fifty thousand years of your count and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell. If any owner does not pay zakat on them, the sheep wilkl appear on the Day or Judgment most strong and in great number, a soft sandy plain will be spread out for them ; they will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hoofs; there will be none of them with twisted horns or without horns. As often as the last of them passes him, the first of them will be brought back to him, until Allah pronounces His Judgment among mankind during a day whose extent will be fifty thousand years that you count, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell. If any owner of camels does not pay what is due on them, they will appear in on the Day or Judgment most strong and in great number, a soft sandy plain will be spread out for them ; they will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hoofs; there will be none of them with twisted horns or without horns. As often as the last of them passes him, the first of them will be brought back to him, until Allah pronounces His Judgment among mankind during a day whose extent will be fifty thousand years that you count, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell. {Sunan Abi Dawud, Book 9, Hadith 103, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 12

 A man from Banu Sulaim narrated: “The Messenger of Allah () counted them out in my hand” – or – “in his hand: ‘At-Tasbīḥ is half of the Scale, and “All praise is due to Allah (Al-Ḥamdulillāh)” fills it, and At-Takbīr (Allāhu Akbar) fills what is between the sky and the earth, and fasting is half of patience, and purification is half of faith.” {Jami’at Tirmidhi, Book 48, Hadith 150, Classified as Hasan}

 

Hadith 13

 It was narrated from Abu Bishr Ja’far bin Abi Wahshiyyah that: He heard Humaid bin ‘Abdur-Rahman say: “The Messenger of Allah () said: ‘The best prayer after the obligatory (fard) prayers is prayer at night and the best fasting after the month of Ramadan is Al-Muharram.'” {Sunan An-Nasai, Book 20, Hadith 17}

 

Hadith 14

 Abu Haamid al-Ghazaali (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Allah, may He be exalted, says, “Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning” {Surah Az-Zumar 39:10}. Fasting is half of patience, so its reward is beyond what one might estimate and give a figure for. {Ihya’ ‘Uloom ad-Deen (1/231) – Same was mentioned by Ibn Al ‘Arabi, Ibn Rajab, and Al Qaadi ‘Iyaad}

 

Hadith 15

 Abu Huraira reported: Verily the Messenger of Allah () said: The five (daily) prayers and from one Friday prayer to the (next) Friday prayer, and from Ramadhan to Ramadhan are expiations for the (sins) committed in between (their intervals) provided one shuns the major sins. {Sahih Muslim, Book 2, Hadith 19}

 

Hadith 16

Narrated Al-Irbad ibn Sariyyah: The Messenger of Allah () invited me to a meal shortly before dawn in Ramadan saying: Come to the blessed morning meal. {Sunan Abi-Dawud, Book 14, Hadith 32, Classified as Sahih}

 

Hadith 17

Az-Zuhri said: “A Tasbihah in Ramadan is better than a thousand Tasbihah in other that it.” {Jami’at Tirmidhi, Book 9, Hadith 132, Classified as Hasan}

 

Hadith 18

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet () was the most generous of all the people, and he used to become more generous in Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Qur’an with him. Allah’s Messenger () then used to be more generous than the fast wind. {Sahih Al Bukhari, Book 61, Hadith 63}

 

Hadith 19

 Umm Ma’qil narrated that: The Prophet said: “Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj.” {Jami’at Tirmidhi, Book 9, Hadith 132, Classified as Sahih}
