Our Mission & Vision
At OCEC, we believe in transforming lives through compassion, community, and faith. Our mission is to deliver the message of Islam through service and empowerment while building a strong, resilient community in Oak Cliff and beyond.
We envision a future where every person in our community has access to knowledge, support, and opportunity — rooted in values of justice, mercy, dignity, and unity.
ICNA Projects
Who We Are
OCEC is a grassroots initiative under ICNA Dallas, established to respond directly to the needs of the Oak Cliff community. We operate with transparency, integrity, and accountability — anchored in Islamic ethics and guided by community voices.
We are:
Faith-centered: grounded in the Islamic principles of mercy, stewardship, and outreach
Service-oriented: offering social, educational, and spiritual programs
Community-engaged: listening to local voices and co-creating solutions
Transparent & accountable: we publish reports and ensure responsible stewardship of funds
Why Oak Cliff?
Oak Cliff is a vibrant, historic, and diverse area of Dallas. But like many urban neighborhoods, it also faces challenges: economic disparity, underresourced youth, social isolation, and lack of access to resources. OCEC steps in to partner with local residents, mosques, nonprofits, and stakeholders to address these challenges in sustainable, dignified ways.
As ICNA Dallas has often emphasized, “serving the inner cities like Oak Cliff” is a core priority of our outreach.
What Sets Us Apart
All of our programs are Zakat-friendly and donor-supported, ensuring faith-based giving and accountability
We emphasize community ownership rather than top-down delivery
We maintain lean operations so more resources go directly into programs
We integrate Islamic dawah and social uplift — so people receive guidance and support side by side
We regularly document our progress, host community events, and amplify voices from within Oak Cliff
