ICNA Dallas is pleased to announce the 25th Annual Quiz Competition on Essential Islamic Knowledge & Skills. The sole purpose of this quiz competition is to revive and promote the knowledge of Islam in our youth. InshaAllah this event will help us to convey the message of Islam, so that our youth become good Muslims and spend their lives according to the Quran and Sunnah
If you participated in the 25th Annual YM Quiz Competition but did not receive a certificate OR were unable to attend the Award Ceremony but won a competition, you can claim your trophy and/or certificate at the Emaan Books & Gifts store In Richardson.

Competition Rules
- Students must take part in the written part of the quiz competition. If you don’t take part in the written competition, even if you win in any of the other competitions, you will not qualify to win a prize, and the next student / winner will be awarded the prize who appears in the written quiz competition. Students must also score a minimum grade of 70% in the written part to qualify to win any of the other competitions
- Students can participate in all four of these competitions or can pick and choose which ones they want to participate in – Hifz, Qiraa’h, Azan (boys only) and Calligraphy (please review eligibility details for each category below)
- Winners will be given prizes
- To register, parents will have to create a main account first and then child(ren) can be registered for the event

Registration Fees: (Discounted registration through 12/31/2024)
- For 1 student = $15
- For 2 students in the same family = $25
- For 3 students in the same family = $30
- For 4 students in the same family = $40
- For 5 students in the same family = $50
- For 1 student = $20
- For 2 students in the same family = $30
- For 3 students in the same family = $35
- For 4 students in the same family = $45
- For 5 students in the same family = $55
Written Competition
- The written exam is for students from all Grades 1 through 12
- Student must score a minimum of 70% to be eligible to win any of the other contests (Hifz, Qiraa’h, Azan and Calligraphy)
- The Written contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th
- Scantron will be used for all grades 2 through 12, grade 1 will mark the answer on question paper
- Scantron paper will be provided
- Students must bring a #2 pencil and eraser
- Students should register in the grade they are in for the current school year

Azan
Competition
Overview
- Students must take part in the Written contest and score at least a grade of 70% to be eligible to win
- Students participating in the Azan contest CANNOT PARTCIPATE in the Hifz and Qiraa’h Contests
- The Written contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th
- The Azan contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th Participants will be required to recite full azan with proper tone and Tajweed
- Only Boys Grade 5th thru 2th can participate in this contes
Procedure
- 40% marks for Makharij-ul-Huruf & clarity
- 60% marks for melody
Hifz
Competition
- Students must take part in the Written contest and score at least a grade of 70% to be eligible to win
- The Hifz contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th Students participating in the Hifz contest CANNOT PARTCIPATE in the Qiraa’h and Azan contest

- Student will be not tested on common rules of Tajweed
- Hifz Level 1 will be divided into two groups:
- Group 1 – Grades 1 thru 5
- Group 2 – Grades 6 thru 12

Qiraa’h
Competition
- Students must take part in the Written contest and score at least a grade of 70% to be eligible to win
- The Qiraa’h contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th
- Students participating in the Qiraa’h contest CANNOT PARTCIPATE in the Hifz and Adhan contests.
- Student will be tested on common rules of Tajweed
- Memorizing the Surah is not required
- Student will have to prepare from the following assigned Surahs:

Calligraphy Competition
- The calligraphy contest is for students Grade 3 & up
- The Calligraphy contest will take place on February 1st and the results will be announced during the award ceremony on February 8th
- All contestants are required to draw the following dua (see dua sample on right) in Arabic as their Art work
- Contestants will be given 25 minutes to complete their Art work.
- Calligraphy must be done freehand
- High quality paper will be provided for the Art work. Paper size will be 14″ X 22″ (36cm X 56cm)
- Contestants are REQUIRED to bring their own drawing instruments
- Markers, pencils (colored or black), crayons, water colors and oil colors can be used Stencils, carbon-papers will not be allowed
- During the competition, copying the art work from any reference will not be allowed
- The calligraphy will be JUDGED based on its beauty, originality and for its legibility and No glitter allowed
